Rise of sea levels is 'the greatest lie ever told'

Telegraph UK Christopher Booker : 28 Mar 2009

The uncompromising verdict of Dr Mörner is that all this talk about the sea rising is nothing but a colossal scare story.

If one thing more than any other is used to justify proposals that the world must spend tens of trillions of dollars on combating global warming, it is the belief that we face a disastrous rise in sea levels. The Antarctic and Greenland ice caps will melt, we are told, warming oceans will expand, and the result will be catastrophe.

Although the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) only predicts a sea level rise of 59cm (17 inches) by 2100, Al Gore in his Oscar-winning film An Inconvenient Truth went much further, talking of 20 feet, and showing computer graphics of cities such as Shanghai and San Francisco half under water. We all know the graphic showing central London in similar plight. As for tiny island nations such as the Maldives and Tuvalu, as Prince Charles likes to tell us and the Archbishop of Canterbury was again parroting last week, they are due to vanish.

But if there is one scientist who knows more about sea levels than anyone else in the world it is the Swedish geologist and physicist Nils-Axel Mörner, formerly chairman of the INQUA International Commission on Sea Level Change. And the uncompromising verdict of Dr Mörner, who for 35 years has been using every known scientific method to study sea levels all over the globe, is that all this talk about the sea rising is nothing but a colossal scare story.

UN Blowback: More Than 650 International Scientists Dissent Over Man-Made Global Warming Claims

Study: Half of warming due to Sun! –Sea Levels Fail to Rise? - Warming Fears in 'Dustbin of History'

POZNAN, Poland - The UN global warming conference currently underway in Poland is about to face a serious challenge from over 650 dissenting scientists from around the globe who are criticizing the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore. Set for release this week, a newly updated U.S. Senate Minority Report features the dissenting voices of over 650 international scientists, many current and former UN IPCC scientists, who have now turned against the UN. The report has added about 250 scientists (and growing) in 2008 to the over 400 scientists who spoke out in 2007. The over 650 dissenting scientists are more than 12 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers.

The U.S. Senate report is the latest evidence of the growing groundswell of scientific opposition rising to challenge the UN and Gore. Scientific meetings are now being dominated by a growing number of skeptical scientists. The prestigious International Geological Congress, dubbed the geologists' equivalent of the Olympic Games, was held in Norway in August 2008 and prominently featured the voices and views of scientists skeptical of man-made global warming fears. Bankrupt advice on emissions

Paul Howes | December 11, 2008 Article from: The Australian

THE hypocrisy of big banks such as Westpac and National Australia Bank that signed up to a corporate communique on climate change calling for aggressive unilateral targets needs to be exposed.

Having participated in what can be described only as a global stuff-up of our financial system, they now are trying to tell Australian corporations that operate in the real economy, and generate real wealth and real jobs, how to behave on climate change.

It's time their dishonest motivation was exposed. Now that the huge profits made out of shoring up risky mortgage markets and fancy financial products have unwound - devastating the lives of countless millions of ordinary citizens - the banks are looking to create a new source of revenue from carbon-trading markets.

I wonder how responsive they will be, safely wrapped in the cocoon of a government guarantee, when Australia's coal-fired power generators come knocking on the door for debt refinancing to help them cope with the new carbon-trading world.

Where are all the dissenting scientists?

THE GLOBAL WARMING EMBARRASSMENT

The evidence is now in. The earth has not warmed since 1998. In fact, it’s getting colder by the minute. Here’s an article by David Bellamy who can’t get on BBC anymore since he doubted the official line on GW. Science is never about “consensus” (not that there ever was one in the first place); it’s about discovery and the unbiased approach to evidence, regardless of preconceptions. It’s also about admitting when you were wrong, rather than covering up with slick elisions like “Climate Change”. Anyhow, this has become an embarrassment for the Greens, and it’s high time they came clean. Will they? Or will they and their “consensus scientists” wait until hell (or the earth) literally freezes over?

Here’s the story:

Ozone

*Did you know.....

In October 1978, CFCs used as propellants in aerosol cans were banned in the United States. Bands world-wide of the product exclusively from DuPont have extended since then to include refrigeration coolants, fire extinguishers, etc, etc. (but not military, like rocket fuel, etc.)

*Has this helped?

20 October 2006 NASA and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) scientists report this year's ozone hole in the polar region of the Southern Hemisphere has broken records for area and depth. "From September 21 to 30, the average area of the ozone hole was the largest ever observed, at 10.6 million square miles," said Paul Newman, atmospheric scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md. If the stratospheric weather conditions had been normal, the ozone hole would be expected to reach a size of about 8.9 to 9.3 million square miles, about the surface area of North America. http://www.theozonehole.com/ozonehole2006.htm

*So maybe CFCs and the Ozone layer are NOT connected?

According to numerous scientific studies, many scientists have debunked the theory that CFC's from freon were responsible for the hole in the ozone layer. The hole is caused from lack of sunlight at the polar areas during the long-night season. When the sun returns, the hole repairs itself. It is a repetitive process. The studies claim that CFCs from volcanoes and other natural phenomena are released into the atmosphere at a much higher rate than those [CFCs] released by freon.

Volcano eruptions deplete ozone: http://www.abc.net.au/science/news/stories/s496920.htm

It is most probable that since DuPont's patent on freon (CFCs) was about to expire -- at which time any company could manufacture freon -- the timed release of the ozone-hole scare played a two-fold role; that is, forwarding the environmentalist movement and catering to the interests of the transnational DuPont company. We understand that the new coolant approved for use is also a DuPont patented product; was never tested for environmental safety; is much less efficient; uses more electricity to cool; is caustic to equipment, reducing the life of equipment; and cannot be used in present equipment so will ultimately cost homeowners and businesses billions to modify or change out equipment.]

Taxing Us for Breathing

March 09, 2007
Last week, the New York Times published an extraordinary editorial complaining that "Right now, everyone is using the atmosphere like a municipal dump, depositing carbon dioxide for free!"
The Times editors suggested that the government "start charging for the privilege" by imposing a "carbon tax."
We all knew it would eventually come to this: the New York Times thinks the government should tax us for breathing.
Of course, the editorial was supposed to be aimed at big corporations who build coal-fired power plants--but why should the logic stop there?
Right now, people are walking around heedlessly inhaling precious oxygen and exhaling carbon dioxide, treating the skies "like a municipal dump, depositing carbon dioxide for free."
Shouldn't everybody be forced to pay for the "privilege" ?
And the connection is a logical one, because the generation of power by industrial-scale power plants is as much a vital activity as breathing.
That's right: there is no difference in principle between your cellular mitochondria and a coal-fired power plant.

No time for dithering as we wake to new eco-terror

Elizabeth Farrelly February 28, 2007 SMH
Pity the postmodern polar bear, waking famished from months of hibernation only to find the ice melting underfoot, with a hundred-kilometre swim before breakfast and the likelihood then of being too weak to catch it. Australia, too, is waking from its long and placid slumbers to the sudden terrifying knowledge that water and climate - the frail continent's most critical parameters - have been so long neglected by those on watch that it's a long Australian crawl to the next solid berg, and no guarantee we'll make it in time.
This new terror, invisible a year ago, now occupies public consciousness. It is shaping this year's elections, state and federal, into single-issue jobs, the water-climate change referendums we had to have. This is good, even though it's bad, since it makes enviro-planning into genuine democratic meat for the first time. The more disappointing, then, that our politicians' best response is a game of friendly touch footy, drinks in the change room after.
And what a game it is. Neat to the point of collusion. The Howard Government is suddenly so eco-aware it converts overnight to nuclear, which uses vast amounts of water and pollutes the never-never. While Morris Iemma's mob is so drought-conscious, as exacerbated by the Howard Government's dinosaur commitment to fossil fuels, it feels compelled to desalinate, consuming vast amounts of electricity - you recall Bob Carr's "bottled electricity" quip - and helpfully resalinating any oceans diluted by those pesky melted icecaps.
Thus, being green, we pursue power that guzzles water and water that guzzles power, all of it profiting government. It's the carbon tax you have when you're not having one. Now that's symbiosis.

Implementation of carbon tax

Wiki
On January 1, 1991, Sweden enacted a carbon tax, placing a tax of .25 SEK/kg ($100 per ton) on the use of oil, coal, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, petrol, and aviation fuel used in domestic travel. Industrial users paid half the rate (between 1993 and 1997, 25% of the rate), and certain high-energy industries such as commercial horticulture, mining, manufacturing and the pulp and paper industry were fully exempted from these new taxes. In 1997 the rate was raised to .365 SEK/kg ($150 per ton) of CO2 released.[3]
Finland, the Netherlands, and Norway also introduced carbon taxes in the 1990s.
In 2005
New Zealand proposed a carbon tax, setting an emissions price of NZ$15 per tonne of CO2-equivalent. The planned tax was scheduled to take effect from April 2007, and applied across most economic sectors though with an exemption for methane emissions from farming and provisions for special exemptions from carbon intensive businesses if they adopted world's-best-practice standards of emissions. After the 2005 election, the minor parties supporting the Government opposed the proposed tax, and it was abandoned in December 2005. http://www.theage.com.au/news/business/carbon-tax-too-costly-says-nz/2005/12/29/1135732693442.html
In 1993,
President of the United States, Bill Clinton proposed a BTU tax that was never adopted. His Vice President, Al Gore, had strongly backed a carbon tax in his book, Earth in the Balance, but this became a political liability after Gore's Republican opponents [weasel words] attacked him as a "dangerous fanatic". In 2000, when Gore ran for President, one commentator labeled Gore's carbon tax proposal a "central planning solution" harking back to "the New Deal politics of his father."[1] In April 2005, Paul Anderson, CEO and Chairman of Duke Energy, called for the introduction of a carbon tax.[4] In January 2007, economist Charles Komanoff and attorney Dan Rosenblum launched a Carbon Tax Center[5] to give voice to Americans who believe that taxing carbon emissions is imperative to reduce global warming.

The Creeping Fascism of Global Warming Hysteria

Man-made orthodoxy is a dogma of coercion, bias, and junk science
Paul Joseph Watson Prison Planet Tuesday, February 13, 2007
The hoax of the doctrine of man-made global warming that is being foisted upon the world by decree, and the junk science that is manipulated to support it, represents a creeping fascism whose agenda to stifle open debate betrays the fact that climate change hysteria is a farce intended to crush freedoms and further centralize global power.

Greenpeace Cofounder: Eco-Extremists Are Antihuman

Insight on the News, Sept 24, 2001 by John Elvin
Patrick Moore, a co-founder of the radical environmental group Greenpeace, long since has abandoned extremist ways in favor of seeking conventional solutions to the often-conflicting demands for timber products and environmental preservation. In a statement picked up by the Nanny Culture.com Website, Moore laments that the movement he helped launch now has no room for people of all political persuasions and has "taken a sharp turn to the ultra-left, ushering in a mood of extremism and intolerance." http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1571/is_36_17/ai_78790477
See him say it himself in the film "The Great Global Warming Swindle" listed below....

Global warming is good for you

The world's climate has always changed and that should not scare us. We should just be prepared.
That there are substantial drawbacks to global warming is unarguable. Certain low-lying areas such as Bangladesh and various Pacific islands may well be flooded. It will be the responsibility of the developed nations, which produce most of the carbon dioxide emissions, to find ways to assist those people most affected. But it is not only the developing world that will be inundated. For example, most of Florida, rather than just the Everglades, may become a swamp. In 100 years' time Miami may be submerged, but a century ago there was almost nothing there. Such change - slow change, on the scale of the human lifetime - causing the shifting of peoples has been a continuing feature of history.
In Britain the coastlines have never been constant: as Beachy Head erodes, it produces shingle that banks up to the east. The place where William the Conqueror landed in 1066 is now inland. Status quo is the exception, not the norm. For the human utility of the planet as a whole, some regions may need to be abandoned, while new zones of habitability will become available as planet Earth warms slightly. It is a natural function of humankind to move on, and search for new opportunities and horizons.
Global warming, then, is great because it protects us from the unpredictable big freeze that would be far, far worse.

Scientists blame sun for global warming

The Sun is more active than it has ever been in the last 300 years
limate changes such as global warming may be due to changes in the sun rather than to the release of greenhouse gases on Earth.
The sun provides all the energy that drives our climate, but it is not the constant star it might seem.
Careful studies over the last 20 years show that its overall brightness and energy output increases slightly as sunspot activity rises to the peak of its 11-year cycle.
And individual cycles can be more or less active. The sun is currently at its most active for 300 years.

Are you green? How many flights have you taken in the last year? Feeling guilty about all those unnecessary car journeys? Well, maybe there's no need to feel bad.
According to a group of scientists brought together by documentary-maker Martin Durkin, if the planet is heating up, it isn't your fault and there's nothing you can do about it.
We've almost begun to take it for granted that climate change is a man-made phenomenon. But just as the environmental lobby think they've got our attention, a group of naysayers have emerged to slay the whole premise of global warming.

Agenda of the Activists

By: Ryan Mauro

tdcanalyst@optonline.net

From my own studies, I know that during the Cold War, the USSR and countries allied to the USSR launched “special measures” activities aimed at the manipulation of scientific fact, activist groups, etc., as a way to influence American domestic and foreign policy. Of course, there are valid environmental concerns and these need to be handled. But there is another side to the story. Certain activist groups have been manipulated or down-right hijacked by radicals, likely with the help of foreign intelligence agencies or simply people believing in forms of Marxist-Leninism. There is no single agenda, but World Threats.com feels obliged to show some of the quotes by various activist groups and people.

Please consider some of these quotes before believing “facts” often pushed to “save the world”. Again, this is not a hit-piece aimed at environmentalists, but rather to demonstrate how radicals are coming to power in activist groups.

“Christianity is our foe. If Animal Rights is to succeed, we must destroy the Judeo-Christian religious tradition.” Peter Singer, the father of Animal Rights

“I suspect that eradicating smallpox was wrong. It played an important part in balancing ecosystems.” John Davis, editor of the Earth First Journal

“We reject the idea of private property.” Peter Berle, President of the National Audubon Society

“People are the case of all the problems, we have too many of them; we need to get rid of some of them, and this (ban of DDT) is as good a way as any.” Charles Wurster of the Environmental Defense Fund

“This is a political game. It has nothing to do with science. It has nothing to do with health and safety.” Sherry Neddick of Greenpeace

“Protecting the environment is a ruse. The goal is the political and economic subjugation of most men by the few, under the guide of preserving nature.” J.H. Robbins

“A global climate treaty must be implemented even if there is no scientific evidence to back the greenhouse effect.” Richard Benedict, State Dept. /Conservation Foundation

“Giving society cheap, abundant energy would be the equivalent of giving an idiot child a machine gun.” Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University

The secret to David McTaggart’s success is the secret to Greenpeace’s success: It doesn’t matter what is true…it only matters what people believe is true…You are what the media defines you to be. Greenpeace became a myth, and a myth-generating machine.” Paul Watson, co-founder of Greenpeace.

“Complex technology of any sort is an assault on human dignity. It would be little short of disastrous for us to discover the source of clean, cheap, abundant energy because of what we might do with it.” Amory Lovins, Rocky Mountain Institute.

“We’ve got to ride the global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing—in terms of economic policy and environmental policy.” Timothy Wirth, former US Senator (D-Colorado)

“We must make this an insecure and inhospitable place for capitalists and their projects…We must reclaim the roads and plowed land, halt dam construction, tear down existing dams, free shackled rivers and return to wilderness millions of tens of millions of acres of presently settled land.” David Foreman, “Earth First”

“As radical environmentalists, we can see AIDS not as a problem, but as a necessary solution.” Miss Ann Thropy (pseudonym), Earth First Journal

“I suspect that the politicians and businessmen who are jumping on the environmental bandwagon don’t have the slightest idea of what they are getting into. They are talking about emission control devices on automobiles, while we are talking about bans on automobiles.” Dennis Hayes, Earth Day Agenda

“If I were reincarnated, I would wish to be returned to Earth as a killer virus to lower human population levels.” Prince Phillip, World Wildlife Fund

The urge to save humanity is almost always a false front for the urge to rule.” J.L. Mencken

“Cannibalism is a radical but realistic solution to the problem of overpopulation.” Lyall Watson in the Financial Times

The message has now gone out to all leftists; ‘substitute green for red’—that is, push socialism labeled as environmentalism as the new priority.” David Horowitz and Peter Collier in “The Destructive Generation”

“…The only hope for the world is to make sure there is not another United States. We can’t let other countries have the same number of cars, the amount of industrialization, we have in the US. We have to stop these Third World countries right where they are. And it is important to the rest of the world to make sure that they don’t suffer economically by virtue of our stopping them.” Michael Oppenheimer, Environmental Defense Fund

“A psycho-politician must work hard to produce the maximum chaos in the fields of ‘mental healing’. You must work until every teacher of psychology unknowingly or knowingly teaches only Communist doctrine under the guide of ‘psychology’. You must labor until every doctor and psychiatrist is either a psycho-politician or an unwitting assistant to our aims. You must labor until we have domination of the minds and bodies of every important person in your nation (America). You must work until suicide arising from mental imbalance is common and calls forth no general investigation or remark…You must dominate as respected men the fields of psychiatry and psychology. You must dominate the hospitals and universities…With it you can erase our enemies as insects. You can change their (leaders) loyalties by psychopolitics…Use the courts, use the judges, use the Constitution of the country, use its medical societies and its laws to further our ends…By psycho-politics create chaos. Leave a nation leaderless. Kill our enemies. And bring to Earth, through Communism, the greatest peace man has ever known.”

Lavrenty Pavlovich Beria, head of the Lenin School of Psycho-Politics in 1933 addressing students at the university as described in “The Soviet Art of Brainwashing” by Kenneth Goff.

“Every child in America who enters school at the age of five is mentally ill, because he comes to school with an allegiance to our institutions, toward the preservation of this form of government that we have. Patriotism, nationalism, and sovereignty, all that proves that children are sick because a truly well individual is one who has rejected all of those things, and is truly the international child of the future.” Dr. Chester Pierce, Harvard University professor and Humanist activist

“Every child who believes in God is mentally ill.” Dr. Paul Brandwein, a leading child psychologist.

“We do not need any more preaching about right or wrong. The old ‘thou shall nots’ simply are not relevant…Values clarification is a method for teachers to change the values of children without getting caught.” Dr. Sidney Simon, lecturer and teacher

“What basic psychological distortion can be found in every civilization of which we know anything? The only psychological force capable of producing these perversions is morality—the concept of right and wrong. The re-interpretation and eventual eradication of the concept of right and wrong are the belated objectives of nearly all psychotherapy.” Dr. G. Brock Chisholm, the first head of the World Federation of Mental Health (which also pushes globalism and movements towards world unity)

“You must work until the officials of city, county and state governments will not think twice before they pounce upon Christian groups as public enemies…You must recruit every agency of the nation marked for slaughter, into a foaming hatred of Christianity. You must suborn district attorneys and judges into an intense belief, that Christian practices are vicious, bad, insanity causing, publicly hated, and intolerable.” From a Communist textbook of Psychopolitics written in 1933.
